By Staff Report-

Winners of the two local Star Search contests used to determine the opening bands for two big shows at Central Park have been named.

Pick Slide will open for Night Ranger on June 15 for the Rockin’ Concert for Riley. They’ll kick off the show at 6:30 p.m. Then Night Ranger will play at 8 p.m.

Mason Dixon Line will open for Jerrod Niemann on July 20 at  the annual Country Concert for St. Jude.

The bands were selected after they entered their videos for consideration. Fans voted on their favorite videos, and judges from 107.3 WRSW and Willie 103.5 weighed in on the final decision.

The Warsaw-based band has four members, including two formerly of CODA, and was formed in 2009. Members include Cedric Poage, Nich Cindrich, Chase Tenney and Zeth Hoffer.

The band performs throughout much of northern Indiana and southern Michigan.

Similarly, Pick Slide opened for Warrant at Brandt’s Harley Davidson in 2010.

Mason Dixon Line is a Fort Wayne band that has been around since 2015.

Both concerts are organized by the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department. Admission to both are free.

The Rockin’ Concert for Riley is a fundraiser for the KC Riley Kid’s Fund, which benefits Kosciusko County families with children receiving treatment at Riley Hospital for Children.

The Country Concert for St. Jude raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
