Here’s what’s happening at the Syracuse Public Library:

May Brings TheStart Of Summer

Children’s Book Week starts off the month of May with special events and book raffles through the week. From Monday to May 5, children of the Syracuse Library can stop in for a free replacement card and fine forgiveness.

Children’s Book Week is about making every child a reader and is a little before all the great programs coming to the library this summer.

Children in the Syracuse preschool, kindergarten, and first grade are getting a trip to the library as a class field trip this May. The children’s department is getting ready to use the theme let’s rock for some awesome summer programs.

Chair Yoga Is Back

Chair yoga is starting up with a summer-time schedule. Easy chair yoga meets at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to begin an uninterrupted series of classes. Beginning and new people are welcome to join the class at any time.

Each class is different and reflects the interests and abilities of the group.  Walking on the Syracuse Trails meets at the new summer time of 9 a.m. May 3 at the Syracuse library. The half hour walk that explores the many connections in Syracuse returns to the library for advanced chair yoga at 9:30 a.m.

WorkOne

WorkOne is committed to offering full-service assistance in the Syracuse area. They are at the library on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Library Friends

The Friends of the Library meet at 10:15 a.m. May 3. Those that want time to visit are welcome to come at 10 a.m. Members of the Friends group that want to stay for an orientation to guide the Syracuse Cemetery tours on May 8  will meet at the end of the regular meeting.
