SHIPSHEWANA – Today, Friday and Saturday, Shipshewana will offer up three full days of family-oriented entertainment at its 17th annual Fall Crafters Fair.

Held downtown and hosted by the Blue Gate and many other local Shipshewana businesses, visitors will discover many tents full of crafts created by both the Amish community and regional artisans.

Basket-weavers, woodcrafters, food preservers, candle makers, potters and painters are just a sampling of the many types of crafters the public will meet.

Along with the large craft tents, one tent will be designated for children to enjoy hands-on experiences like pumpkin painting and tin punching. Young children can also enjoy free rides on a miniature train.

Free entertainment and food vendors will also be on hand to complete the three-day event.

The weekend also will be the kickoff to the Shipshewana “Across the Road Fall Indoor Market.” Shoppers can expect to see a small-scale indoor version of the outdoor Shipshewana Flea Market with gift items, a selection of local crafts and a variety of other goods.
