Debra Collier’s School Of Dance Offers Summer Programs

By Staff Report-

Looking for summer activities that are filled with excitement and imagination?
The summer programs at Debra Collier’s School of Dance feature dance and theme camps along with short summer sessions of “discover dance,” ballet, hip hop and more.
From camps with the studio’s own princess to workshops with a nationally known guest choreographer, the studio has something for everyone, according to a news release from the dance school.
This season’s camp themes include Shimmer & Shine®, Tinkerbell®, Beauty & The Beast, Ballerina Barbie® and the new, week-long camp Movies & More. Full descriptions, dates and details for the camps can be found on the studio’s website at collierdance.com.
“My daughter looks forward to dance camp every summer,” said Teresa Craig, a parent. “The studio always goes above and beyond to make it a magical time for the kids and the new extended care option is great for our busy schedule.”
Extended care is available before and after every camp.
Movies & More will take boys and girls behind the scenes of the movie “Trolls” to discover everything from dancing to costume creation, stage makeup and more.  The day-long camp is for ages 4-1/2 to 12.
The six-week summer program offers classes for dancers ages 18 months and up, including Mommy & Me, Tiny Tots, Discover Dance, Beginning Ballet, Hip Hop and Ballroom. Two summer intensives are also available for contemporary and modern students, as well as multiple one and two-day specialty workshops.
“Summer provides a great opportunity for students to try dance during the short sessions,” said DCSD owner Deb Collier.
DCSD has a history of providing opportunities for their students to learn from master teachers from across the country, the release states. This summer the school is excited to have Princess Grace Award recipient Josh Manculich as a guest instructor.
For class times, more information on any of these programs or to register, call the studio at 574-267-7055. Registration for all classes and camps also is available online at collierdance.com.
