Scott Celebrating 90 Years

Lula June, known as “Nanny” to her grandchildren, was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Lawrenceville, Ill., one of 13 children.
She was married to the late Estel C. Scott, a U.S. Army veteran, on June 1, 1946. They had three children: Ronald Scott Sr., Tippecanoe; Donald Scott Sr., Claypool; and Thomas D. Scott, Knoxville, Tenn. She has seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Lula June has spent most of her adult life in the Burket/Claypool area. She loves baking pies from scratch, makes “the best homemade chicken and noodles in the universe,” and enjoys taking care of her pets. She attends Cook’s Chapel Church.
Family and friends are invited to stop by the open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 21 at 207 E. Main St., Mentone. Gifts are not necessary.
