By Staff Report-

Warsaw restaurant Rua announced it will present a group exhibition in its new gallery space, located in the Brennan Room, featuring 10 local artists who have a personal connection to Rua.

“Connections: Rua” is the inaugural exhibit in the newly opened gallery at Rua, and is running through Dec. 30, with a opening artist reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19. Appetizers will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.

The 10 artists featured in the show are Jason Rowland, Stephanie McDairmant, Zack Kattaka, Kevin Carter, Scott Holladay, Annie Carter, Jay Holladay, Leo Dean Jansen, Austin Williams and Aida Calderon.

Their work offers a diverse visual menu including abstract, pop, photography, jewelry and handcrafted items, according to a news release from Rua, 108 E. Market St., Warsaw.

Rua is in its second year of operation and serves internationally inspired street food. It provides casual dining and a full bar, a private event space in the Brennan Room, and catering. The gallery at Rua is the latest addition to its dining experience.

“Rua is all about simplicity and organic connection,” said co-owner Andrew Holladay. ”Our space was built with the intention to offer approachable and simple food and drink within our walls- an extension of ourselves.

“The gallery at Rua is another part of that extension. We want to offer a space that showcases the creative prowess of those around us.”

Chef and co-owner Andrew Jones believes the new gallery is “the natural progression in our efforts to create a venue where our guests can gather and enjoy something new. The exhibits will change and so will our menu. That's the best part.”

The gallery at Rua will offer an ongoing rotation of exhibits and will focus on artists of all varieties from Northern Indiana, the Midwest and beyond. It is the latest addition to the growing art scene in midtown Warsaw that includes The Gallery on Center Street, the Ballroom Gallery on Buffalo Street and the Lakeland Art Association Gallery on Winona Avenue.

The gallery at Rua will be open during restaurant hours: Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to close; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to close; closed Sundays and Mondays.
