SHIPSHEWANA – The Blue Gate Theatre in Shipshewana announced 10 more Signature Concert additions to its 2018 concert schedule.

Tickets went on sale for all these shows Wednesday.

Along with the many concerts, the Blue Gate will continue to produce its musicals and add one more to their musicals catalog.

"The Blue Gate is known as one of the venues that really listens to its guests for recommendations, and this schedule really reflects that," said Andrew Rohrer, vice president of sales and marketing. “We added some of those great suggestions to the early part of the 2018 line-up. Daniel O’Donnell is an artist that gets recommended dozens of times a year so we’re thrilled to finally have a chance to host him."

Some of the other names that were highly requested and made it on the schedule this year include Mark Lowry, Mark Chesnutt, Little Texas, Phillips Craig and Dean and the Marshall Tucker Band.

The musicals line-up next year will include a return of “Half-Stitched the Musical,” and the Blue Gate’s latest release, “The Home Game,” will return for its final run before closing to make room for new musicals in development.

According to Rohrer, "The Blue Gate Theatre will be entering its 22nd year and was originally established out of the Riegsecker Marketplace ‘Meeting House’ as a means to provide tourists and locals who are visiting Shipshewana with outstanding evening entertainment, while staying true to the cultural roots of the community."

The original shows proved so successful that when the new Blue Gate Restaurant was built, it was expanded to accommodate a new professional theater space and more recently an event center venue as well, according to a news release from Blue Gate.

The 2018 season Signature Concerts include: Jan. 19, Sidewalk Prophets; Jan. 20, Thompson Square; Jan. 26, Wynonna and the Big Noise; Jan. 27, Little Texas; Feb. 23, Daniel O'Donnell: Back Home Again Tour; March 2, Mark Chesnutt; March 3, Marshall Tucker Band; March 9, Phillips, Craig and Dean; March 10, Anita Renfroe; March 23, Under the Streetlamp; March 24, Scotty McCreery; April 13, Asleep at the Wheel; April 20, Hotel California "A Salute to the Eagles"; April 21, Joe Diffie; April 27, Chubby Checker; June 1, Mark Lowry; June 2, Carpenters; June 2, A Neil Diamond Tribute; June 8, Ricky Skaggs.
