AKRON – The following Akron Area Arts League members received awards in the Annual Midwest Museum of American Arts Regional Show, which is running through Dec. 4 in Elkhart.
• Best in Drawing/Printmaking, Jerry Ginther, graphite, “Take a Seat.”
• $900 Purchase Awards, Braxton Eikenberry, welded steel, “People” and for “Picasso as Conquistador Brings Art to the World”
• $700 Purchase Award, Diane Tesler, oil, “Lookout”
• $500 Purchase Award, Steve Creighton, oil, “Grapes & Floral”

Brenda Ramseier is hosting a gallery open house at The Art Giraffe, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Nov. 6 from 2 to 5 p.m.

2016 Holiday Extravaganza
The 2016 Holiday Extravaganza is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at Akron Community Center, 815 E. Rural St., Akron. Featuring unique holiday gifts from local and regional artisans, there also will be food and music, and Santa Claus will visit from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
