Wawasee Choral Dept. Fall Concert Set For Monday

SYRACUSE – The Wawasee High School Choral Department will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the high school auditorium.
Tickets are $5 for general admission. Children 5 and under are free.
The eighth-grade choirs from Wawasee Middle School and Milford will be joining the high school choirs for the concert. They will be performing "For Good" and "On Top of the World.”
The Wawasee Middle School eighth-grade choir is directed by Hope Bechtel, and the Milford eighth-grade choir is directed by Peg Zimmerman.
The Beginning Chorus from the high school will entertain the audience with “Like the Beat of a Drum” and “Sailing.”
The Advanced Chorus girls from the high school will be singing “I Dream a World,” “Hope is the Breath of Music” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.”
Vocal Motion will be singing and dancing to “September,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Flashlight” and “Sing.” Joelle Rassi will perform “I’m In Love With a Monster” as part of the set. Dance captain for the group is Ethan Wright.
This year will be the second year for Vocal Motion to compete. The group will be in competition at Belmont High School in January, at Homestead High School in February and Norwell High School in March.
A tribute to Indiana’s bicentennial will be a feature of the program. A song by North Webster native Dale Mock, “I Love Indiana, “ and Peru native, Cole Porter, “It’s DeLovely,” will be performed by all of the  combined choirs at the conclusion of the program. “Let Freedom Ring” also will be performed by all choirs.
Director of the high school choirs is Connie Meadows. Choreographer for Vocal Motion is Damon Brown.
The public is invited to attend.
