Sandra "Sandy" Young, Warsaw, recently was selected Crew Person of the Year for the 600-store McDonald's Fort Wayne and South Bend Regions. This area encompasses north central and northeast Indiana as well as southwest Michigan.

Young began working for the Detroit Street McDonald's 33 years ago, starting when the store was in its first year. Except for a brief maternity leave, she has been the anchor of back drive-through ever since. She has seen her customers grow up and knows many of their favorite McDonald's foods. She has come to personally know scores of customers and shares many of their joys and sorrows. Often, if Young is not at the window, customers will inquire about her, expressing concern.

Young is a lifelong resident of Warsaw, and she lives with her husband, Lennie. They have one son and one grandson.

She enjoys shopping with her sisters, church and professional wrestling.[[In-content Ad]]
