A new bank has broken ground in downtown Warsaw.

Tower Bank, headquartered in Fort Wayne, broke ground at the corner of Main and Buffalo streets March 16. It is expected to open in September.

Warsaw's branch is the eighth financial center in Northeast Indiana, according to Trois Hart, Tower Bank's vice president of marketing.

"We are so pleased that our new facility will not only complement the ambiance of downtown Warsaw, but also allow Tower to expand our offerings in the community," said John Warren, Warsaw Community Bank president.

"Our full suite of services, including trust, estate planning and investment, as well as both commercial and personal banking, will be readily available in a comfortable, beautiful and convenient atmosphere."

Warren joined Tower Bank in June 2006 to support business development efforts in Warsaw.

Before joining Tower Bank, Warren served as community bank president of National City Bank, Warsaw.

Prior to that, he was branch manager of National City and its predecessor, First National Bank. He also gained real estate experience from his years at ABC Realty, Pierceton.

The bank will feature a two-story atrium with an arched ceiling, interior columns, an interior balcony overlooking the first floor and a 1,000-square-foot drive-through canopy that will offer visitors a unique visual experience.

The 4,300 square-foot, two-story facility will provide off-street parking, drive-through banking service and a convenient ATM. Shawnee Construction was chosen as a the general contractor for the project.
