There are many tools that you can use to help you digitalize your family photos and documents. First and most common way is to use your computer and scanner. When scanning photos into your computer I would suggest making folders in your My Documents labeling them by surname and then naming each photo with who is in the photo. That way it will be easier to find a photo later down the road on your computer.
If you have a smart device like a iPhone or iPad there are lots of applications you can get to help you digitalize your photos and most of those applications have the tools on them to crop and resize the photos before saving them. To name a few of the applications that you can get to help you digitalize your family photos. You have some applications that you can get that are free to download and use and there is some better ones that you actually have to pay to download.
Photomyne is an application you can take pictures of even several pictures on a page. For example those old magnetic photo albums where your photos stick and won’t come off. This application you can take a picture of several pictures at once so that you can make sure to have backup copies of those photos incase something happens to them.
Shutterfly is an application that you can save your photos onto their website for safe keeping so if you have lots of photos saved on you computer this website is a good place to save those photos to incase something happens to your computer. With this website you can also create photo books and purchase them to send as a gift to a family member.
On your iPhone and iPad it keeps your photos and you can create albums on this also. I have all my family photos digitalized and saved on my iPad so that it is easier to travel with than taking all your photo albums.
