One thing you can create is a scrapbook for a family member that may be having an anniversary or a birthday. In this scrapbook, if it’s an anniversary you can start from the couple’s birth laying it out in story form. You can start with when the individuals were born and who their parents are.
You can continue this with when the couple met and where they met. You can also write their love story if known. Adding any pictures of memorabilia that they may have gathered such as a movie ticket stub from their first date, are also great additions. Anything that can be added to the scrapbook to bring their story to life is ideal. Even if you don’t have a movie ticket stub create one as a replica. Adding any vacation spot they may have traveled to as a couple, or an event they attended while dating adds so much to this life story you are creating. Then adding about their wedding and any details you may be able to uncover.
Of course you will want to add their children to the story saying when, where and any details of their birth to this story. I created a scrapbook for my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary and they really enjoyed reliving their past together. Then this is also something else that can be handed down as an heirloom for future generations.
I have seen memory boxes created as a keepsake that may contain a photo, medal that someone earned in the war or other recognition that this person may have received. These memory boxes are a good remembrance of a family member who has passed away in war.
There are so many things that can be created to have as a keepsake of your family. Have fun with it and be creative.
