School records are one record that a lot of people overlook. One could think that a school record won't have any useful information pertaining to Genealogy but sometimes some schools especially years ago kept school record censuses which was like a daily attendance log. So you may be able to find siblings or cousins in the same school but in a different that may have known about before looking at the school records. Maybe one of your ancestors was a teacher or on the school board so looking at school board minutes may be another good resource for some.
If you know that one of your ancestors attended a college or university you may want to research the alumni directories of that particular college or university to see if you can get just a little more tidbit of information from that.
High school yearbooks are another source of not really information per say but can give you a picture of what your ancestor looked like in their school years. A lot of libraries or historical societies have digitalized some of these yearbooks to make them available on their website.
Another great resource is to locate and see if the high school your ancestor attended may have a school newspaper which may have an article on one of your ancestors.
School report cards could be one of the more valuable resources as far as school records go cause some of the times it will have the parents names, Childs age and sometimes child's interests on the report card. Seeing the age of the child and the year this report card was written can help you know an approximate year the child was born.
Where can you find some of these records? More and more records and documents are being digitalized and put online bout if you don't find them online you can check the archives at the local or state library or historical society.
