Seventeen members and one guest attended the August meeting of Pierceton Senior Citizens club. The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. by President John Baughman. After the pledge of allegiance, Carolyn and Jo led others to dinner, celebrating their August birthdays.
Brian Koser, Pierceton, was the entertainment for the evening. He sang a variety of songs including “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” “Folsom Prison Blues” “I’ll Be Seeing You” “Long Line of Sinners Like Me,” “In The Garden” and “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground.”
John opened  the business portion of the meeting with a “funny” about three questions to answer to get into heaven and challenged members to find something new in his yard. One member, Allen Zehner, passed away in August and condolences were offered to his stepmother, Carolyn Hall.
Carolyn gave the treasurer’s report. Members were reminded about the Heirloom Tomato Festival in town for the weekend. Last year, seeds from 29 different varieties were available. Betty Rose shared “When  My Hair is Thin” and “Take Time to Pray” to close the meeting.
Dr. Hadlock will join at the Sept. 21 meeting to discuss new trends in medicine. He joins Kelsey from the new ship across from the center who repurpose items and Susan from Purr-fectly Unique, a design studio and boutique, who have shared business stories during previous months.
All Pierceton seniors are invited to join club for a healthy meal, games and conversation daily at the center. Make reservations by calling 574-594-5632.[[In-content Ad]]
