NORTH MANCHESTER - The North Manchester Chamber of Commerce hosted its 15th Annual Golf Outing May 16 at the Sycamore Golf Club, North Manchester.

Great weather, good people and fantastic golfing was the key to success, not to mention all of the sponsors who could not make it but donated their money to help support the North Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber hosted 16 teams and 64 players, who came out and played to the best of their ability. There were mulligans and greens to purchase along with two skills holes that the players willingly donated their skills and hard-earned money to try their luck at. All of the raised money at these holes was automatically donated to the the North Manchester Chamber of Commerce's fund raising and for next year's golf outing.

The outing hosted the teams and players with lunch from the MainView Inn, with grilled tenderloins with all the fixings, cole slaw, baked beans and chips. The dessert was cookies donated by Nordmann's Nook. Drinks were donated by the MainView Inn and Dr. William Hankee, DDS.

After a brief welcome and instructions given by Todd Sandow, owner and professional of Sycamore Golf Course, the teams were off and running.

Teams were able to visit the 10th hole which was being manned by own Chamber members Annette Ayres and Glenda Christiansen for a quick hot dog and cool beverage with Julie Sellers keeping an eye out at the No. 15 Hole for the "Double Your Balls" skills shot.

The Chambers' Annette Meggison and Kathy Roberts manned the "Buck-a-Putt" hole on the practice green.

The committee gave prizes to the first-place, second-place and last-place teams along with two longest drives at the ninth and 16th holes and two closest to the pin prizes at the fourth and 18th holes. First-place team went to the Shepherd's Chevy & Cadillac team with team members of Tim Shepherd, Duane Trump, Ty Baer and Eric Cass.

Second-place honors went to the Manchester Tool & Die team of Chad Williams, Jeff Kock, Mike Kline Sr., and Mark Sandlin.

Last place team privilege went to the Peabody Retirement Community team of Donnie Kohls, Ginny Crowe and Carolyn Fedewa.

These teams all received North Manchester Chamber Bucks and a sleeve of golf balls, courtesy of the chamber of commerce.

Chad Williams received the honors of longest drive on the ninth hole, with John Mugford Jr., receiving the longest drive on the 16th hole. Our other hole winners were Tim Shepherd who won closest to the pin on hole 4 and with Joe Frantz collecting the win on closest to the pin on hole 18. Each recipient received either a free round of golf or a free golf lesson courtesy of Sycamore Golf Club and a sleeve of golf balls from the chamber of commerce.[[In-content Ad]]
