VOT was founded in 2005 by Dr. Ron Clark, founder and chairman of the board. Dr. Clark is a practicing orthopedic surgeon who filed for his first medical patented device and method in 1992 and is responsible for the worldwide adoption of transverse femoral ligament fixation (cross pin) used in knee ligament surgery. Dr. Clark has authored nine U.S. patents related to surgical devices, has eight patents pending and many of his patents have been licensed to major orthopedic companies.
The company is run by three seasoned executives with a broad range of medical device experience. Hans Stover, president and CEO, has worked in the medical device industry his entire career for innovative and successful companies like Honeywell, Nellcor, Puritan Bennett, Mallinckrodt and Welch Allyn. Most recently, he was chief executive officer for Access Point Medical, a start-up company in the Home Medical Device industry with manufacturing facilities in China and a direct sales and marketing organization in the U.S.
Stover is joined by Tom Carter, vice president of sales and marketing and David Blakemore, vice president of research and development. Both bring extensive expertise in their respective fields and significant orthopedic experience from their years at Zimmer.
"I am excited about joining this new innovative orthopedic company and locating the company to the orthopedic capital of the world, Warsaw," said Stover. "We have an innovative orthopedic surgeon bringing a constant flow of product ideas and a great team who can execute those ideas and bring innovative products to the marketplace. We will be focused on products that benefit the orthopedic and arthroscopic surgeon, the patient and the insurance company, creating an alignment of interest unparalleled in this industry."[[In-content Ad]]
