On June 7, the 1959 class of Mentone High School celebrated their 55th reunion at the Maple Leaf Headquarters, Leesburg. Attending were 22 classmatesand spouses, for a total of 35. Those attending from out of state were Rose Drudge Birkey, Fisher, Ill.; Loretta Remy Coffin, Tampa, Fla.; Bob Haupert, Farmington, N.M.; Susan Doyle Klepac, Ava, Mo.; and Sandra Barkman Leonard. Terry Tucker gave the group a tour of the headquarters, and Bob Haupert read a poem he had written for the class. New class books, compiled by Bonnie Hile and Terry Tucker, were handed out. Terry and Sandra Tucker were hosts for the event. The Cake Lady from North Webster catered the lunch. A class picture was taken by Joe Kois. Four classmates are deceased.
