Several area schools have additional healthcare partners on their team including team physicians and athletic trainers. Dr. Thomas Krizmanich is the team physician for Warsaw High School, Wawasee High School, Tippecanoe Valley High School and Grace College. Dr. Patrick Silveus serves Tippecanoe Valley High School while Dr. Neal VanNess is the team physician for Wawasee High School.

The Kosciusko Community Hospital Regional Rehabilitation Center works with four schools including Grace College, Warsaw Community High School, Wawasee High School and Tippecanoe Valley High School. Athletic trainers are hospital employees who contract with area schools during the fall, winter and spring sport seasons to provide athletes with immediate injury attention. Before practice, the athletic trainer may tape, bandage, wrap, brace or complete preventive measures for athletes requiring attention to sports-related injury. During practice, the athletic trainer evaluates injuries and determines whether to contact a physician or provide care for minor injuries. Practice is also a time when the athletic trainer can provide rehabilitative therapy to injured players who may not be able to participate in practice.

Having an athletic trainer on-site and on-call on a regular bases is a tremendous benefit to athletic coaches. Athletic trainers are available to provide assistance to athletes at the athletic events and practices.

KCH Regional Rehabilitation office hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. For additional information please call 574.372.7671.[[In-content Ad]]
