An estimated 900 Kosciusko REMC members and their families gathered at Warsaw Community Church on Saturday for the electric cooperative's 68th Annual Meeting. The primary item on the agenda was the election of three new directors. Incumbents Fred Powell, Don Arnold and Steve Miner were re-elected to serve another three year term.

Elsewhere in the meeting, the 2006 Annual Report was presented to those in attendance, and accompanied by reports from Board President John Anglin, Jr., Board Secretary/Treasurer Terry Bouse and Chief Executive Officer, Steve Rhodes, each of whom highlighted a few of the many changes and successes the REMC experienced in the past year.

Members were also entertained by Cook and Belle, who engaged the audience with their country and gospel vocals. Magician Scott Davis wowed the children in attendance during a special kids program, which was held during the business meeting. Over 40 members went home with a door prize, including young Maksym Monnier, who won a new bicycle; Zach Stamper, who won an iPod¨; and Ralph Evans, Jr. who took home the grand prize of the event Ð a brand new LCD television.

"I'm always gratified to see how dedicated our members are to the co-op," said Rhodes. "To have over 900 people show up and participate in the Annual Meeting is an amazing display of democracy in action and validation of the cooperative principles that drive this organization."
