Genealogy: A Hobby To Begin When Winter Kicks In

Genealogy is sometimes a hobby that people start getting involved with more when the winter months are here and there isn’t much that people can do outside.
As the winter months are approaching you may want to consider either starting to research your family tree or pick it back up again.
Sometimes genealogists get a brick wall that we think will never be broke so we give up on that particular branch of the family tree and start on another branch for awhile.
If you are already a researcher go through your genealogy records that you have compiled so far. Make a list of the missing pieces of the puzzle so this is a list you can work on during the winter months. You may be missing several dates such as birth, death or marriage dates on some of your ancestors.
Since we have been talking about the winter months we think of the holiday season quickly approaching us this is a good way to show the family what you have been doing with your research than to create a keepsake for a family member for a gift. There are a lot of ideas and fun gifts that can be created for family, even if it’s creating a photo album of pictures of that family member through the years.
You can always come join the Genealogy Club at the Warsaw Library the second Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. at the library in the meeting room. Come and meet with other fellow genealogists.
Whether you are a beginner or a professional genealogist, all are welcome. During the spring months I try to get different speakers to come in and discuss different topics that pertain to genealogy.  During the winter months, due to weather and the holidays, we won’t have Genealogy club in November, December or January but will resume the second Tuesday of February.[[In-content Ad]]
