"Community Day", a local fundraising event sponsored by Elder-Beerman will be held March 1. This exclusive event offers non-profit organizations the opportunity to raise additional funds to provide the much needed services in each community served by Elder-Beerman Department Stores. Interested organizations are being asked to sign up now. More than 40 schools, churches and civic organizations participated in the last "Community Day" event which raised more than $14,000 here in Warsaw and the surrounding area.

All non-profit organizations are invited to participate. Organizations sell special money saving coupon books throughout the community for $5 and then keep all of the proceeds. Organizations will also have the opportunity to sell booklets inside the store leading up to and including the day of the event. There is no cost to the organization to participate and none of the money collected goes to Elder-Beerman. If you sell 100 booklets, you keep all $500.

When you purchase a "Community Day" booklet, you will be eligible for a very special day of shopping and savings at any Elder-Beerman. For a $5 donation, you will receive a $10 off coupon and eight additional 20 percent off coupons. Elder-Beerman stores will open at 7 a.m. to handle the additional traffic.

Organizations wishing to participate may sign up on-line at www.communitydayevent.com or call the Warsaw Elder-Beerman at 574-371-2550 (Steve Blair ext. 200, Abigail Heath ext. 325 or Cathy Huntley ext. 282) or Tara Fuller at 574-216-4352.

"Community Day" discount booklets also are available for sale at the Warsaw Elder-Beerman store. All of these proceeds will also go to the participating organizations.[[In-content Ad]]
