Michele Carter, director, is a licensed mental health counselor. Carter has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in behavior analysis and therapy from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
Carter has more than 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Her expertise is with youth/teens and survivors of abuse. However, she has worked with a variety of other issues over the years such as marital concerns, school issues, death and dying, other life changes, ADD/ADHD, etc.
Carter has lived in Warsaw with her husband and children for the last seven years. She worked the last four years in the Warsaw School District and is a member of Tri Kappa.
The emphasis of Counseling Connection will be on building the existing strengths of the client and building or reinforcing their network of support. This can be accomplished through addressing parenting skills, stress management, conflict resolution, anger management, social skills and self-esteem building just to name a few.
In addition there will be a premarital workshop offered every six months through the Counseling Connection for those wanting to get married at First United Methodist Church. The hope is to give couples a solid foundation for communicating, addressing conflicts, discussing tough topics in a positive way and building on each others' strengths.
Sessions are by appointment only and clients can contact Counseling Connection by phone at 574-269-3654 or through the internet using a confidential request form at [email protected]
Day and evening appointments are available.[[In-content Ad]]
