Christmas Traditions Discussed

Does you family have traditions that have been passed down throughout the generations? Some families have traditions that after the Thanksgiving meal and everyone’s stomachs have calmed down from all the food. Some gather together and put the Christmas tree up since the family is together. Are there ornaments that you have that were passed down from generations past?
I have tried to get one new ornament each year that represents something that has happened that year for us. First Christmas we were married, we got  Christmas ornament. The following year, we moved into our house so I bought a New Home ornament. Do you make ornaments or have your kids make ornaments each year?
Does your family have a cookie baking day where members of the family get together and make all kinds of different cookies? I like to gather together with friends to make and decorate cookies for all our family gatherings. Some people like to do the cookie trade, where several different people make several different cookies and then divide them up so that each person has several different kinds of cookies.
Do you have a member of your family who is talented in playing the piano? Do you sit around singing Christmas carols after the meal and gift exchange? In my family we don’t have any one family that is musically inclined so I like to get a group together and go around to the nursing homes and sing Christmas carols, or go around to different people that can’t get out of their houses due to health reasons and spread that Christmas cheer.  Whatever you do this Christmas season try to spend time with family and friends. Merry Christmas.
