July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

NORTH WEBSTER – Pickleball is the newest sport at the North Webster Community Center.

This is a game that two or four people can play and it is a cross between tennis and ping-pong.  You play with racquets and a wiffle ball approximately the size of a baseball.  Any age can play and it is less stressful than some other activities. This is a great sport for seniors. Come and check out the courts in the gym at NWCC between 9:30 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday and Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

For more information, call 574-834-1600, Ext. 0, Leah, or Ext. 4,  Marilyn.  See you at the gym.

The fifth-annual Walk-A-Thon, sponsored by the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center, is over for another year. This is when the seniors challenge everyone in the community to “walk for your health and for NWCC.”  It is their way of making money for the “Keepin’ the LIGHTS ON” project.  SPEC shares the profits with the center.

Now it is time to collect on the pledges and ask for donations. They accept checks made out to SPEC and cash always works. They thank everyone for their support in this fundraising event.

The next computer class will start the last week of February and will be a beginning/basic class. It will meet  Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The cost is $45 per person for 12 hours of instruction. Call Barb for more information at 574-834-1600, Ext. 4

The February birthday party will be Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.  Barb Erhardt will be the speaker/entertainment with a program titled “Heart’s Desire”. Erhardt is a creative woman and will share some of her experience in teaching, artwork and life in general. Join them for a program and have free cake and ice cream.[[In-content Ad]]
