“Isn’t it amazing we get to come back to Warsaw for three years?” she asked in a telephone interview from Oklahoma Wednesday morning.
She and her husband, Mark Eaton, just got back from Las Vegas where they participated in Cowboy Church, which saw turnout doubled from last year.
Over the past year, they’ve also traveled to many other states like Texas and Washington, and will be at the Denver Stock Show in January. After Warsaw, she said they’re heading to Lakeland, Fla.
McEntire, the sister of country music legend Reba McEntire, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Middle School auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. for “A Country Christmas with Susie McEntire.” No ticket is required for the concert, but each attendee is asked to bring a new, unwrapped item for Toys For Tots.
Saturday’s concert will be similar to the shows in 2015 and 2014, but she plans to freshen up the show with three songs fans might not have seen before. She said she’s excited about the new songs she’ll sing.
Her mother, who recently turned 90, also received an honory degree this year and McEntire said she’ll share some of her mother’s stories.
While McEntire said she’s not recorded any new albums recently, she will have her Christmas album available Saturday.
She’s also looking forward to meeting people after the show and taking pictures with fans.
“It’s so neat to come back for the third year and see familiar faces and see their children growing up,” McEntire stated.
McEntire and Eaton also will host church services at the Leesburg United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. Sunday. It’s also free. It’s the second year the couple have taken part in church services in Leesburg.
“It’s a beautiful church,” she said. “Mark will be sharing a little bit more. My husband is a great speaker and speaks to people’s hearts so well.”
McEntire said her husband has been a speaker for so long and is very impromptu.
“He can speak to the hearts of people,” she said.
They also will sing and McEntire said it will be an acoustic performance.
