AKRON – Linda S. Gillman, 75, rural Akron, died at 10:25 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2025, at her residence.
Linda was born Nov. 28, 1949, in Buchanan County, Va., to Roscoe and Mary Lester Lester. She was married on July 7, 1967, in Clintwood, Va., to Lanny Gillman; he survives.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Larrie Kreft officiating. Her interment will take place following the service in Nichols Cemetery, Akron.
Visitation hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 7 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105; or to the local animal shelter of your choosing.
