Judith Ann Leonard, 75, of Fort Wayne passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 13, 2025, in Chicago after visiting her daughter and grandchildren in Maryland.
She was born on June 10, 1950, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Philip E. and Caramalinda Grandi Murach.
Judy was a lifetime area resident and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from IPFW. A registered nurse for over 25 years, she worked for St Joe’s Hospital, Lutheran Hospital, Columbia City Hospital and Kosciusko Community Hospital among others during her career. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau-Ai Nu Chapter at Large and The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She enjoyed visiting with her family, snuggling with her cats and growing flowers in her garden. She was active at Queen of Angels Catholic Church and their 55-plus group.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Sara Harmon (Corey); her grandchildren: Sophia, Fiona and Jameson; her son, Daniel Leonard; three brothers: Philip (Karen) Murach, Jack Murach and Eric (Carolyn) Murach. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is also survived by the Leonard family: Tom (Marylou), John (Karen), Dan (Cathy), Kayleen and Laura.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 30 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W. State Blvd., Fort Wayne. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.
