The North Webster Police Department has been made aware of scam calls where the callers are using the North Webster Police Department non-emergency phone number, (phone number spoofing). The scammers are contacting individuals by phone, saying they are an officer of the North Webster Police Department. The scammers then tell the person they have violated misc. laws and/or have a warrant for their arrest. The scammers then request money to void the warrant.
The North Webster Police Department would like you to know, if you receive a telephone call from someone saying you have a warrant for your arrest and/or requesting money, please call the North Webster Police Department or your local police agency.
