Mantis Skate Park, 400 Little League Drive, Warsaw, is having its opening day for the season from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
All ages are welcome.
Come celebrate opening day at Mantis Skate Park, a fully-supervised, family-friendly skate destination where fun is for all ages, according to a news release from the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department.
To kick off the skate season, they’re bringing giveaways including door prizes, goodie bags, two signed Tony Hawk prints, Jimmy John's subs, a fun photo backdrop and more.
Food and goodies are for participants only and while supplies last.
Thanks to the K21 Health Foundation, the park features the Rhino Ramp System. Mantis Skate Park welcomes skateboards, scooters and inline skates — just don’t forget your helmet (they’re required for safety).
All skaters must have an annual waiver and emergency contact form on file to participate. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the form. These can be completed online at https://warsaw.in.gov/225/Mantis-Skate-Park or in person at the parks office. It is recommended that a participant fill them out before arriving.
The parks department gives a big thank you to sponsors Papa John's, Sterling Contracting and Linda Chastain for making this free event possible.
