A Huntington teen was arrested after allegedly forcing a minor under 14 to have sex.
Khori L. Potts, 18, Huntington, is charged with rape, a level 3 felony; and child molesting, a level 3 felony.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:12 p.m. Tuesday on a $25,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Dec. 3 the Warsaw Police Department was contacted by a woman to report an alleged sexual assault that happened Nov. 28 involving a minor. The woman said the minor said Potts had sex with the minor several times.
On Dec. 4, the WPD was told the minor was taken to the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center for an examination and then to Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center where a forensic interview was conducted.
During the forensic interview, the minor said Potts came into their bedroom and tried to get them to vape, but the minor declined. Potts then forced a kiss with the minor. The minor left the room to find adults, but no one was around. Later, investigators learned the adults were outside putting up Christmas decorations.
The minor said they returned to their room and once inside, they found Potts hiding behind the door. Potts closed the door and had sex with the minor. The minor said Potts was told to stop multiple times. Potts continued to be aggressive. After the first time, Potts told the minor not to tell anyone and said he was not going to jail.
The minor said there was a second incident that night. With that second time, Potts allegedly entered the minor’s room, shoved the minor down, told them to shut up and Potts forcibly had sex with the minor.
On Dec. 10, a WPD detective captain met with Potts and a family member at the Huntington Police Department. Potts initially said nothing sexual occurred with a minor. Later in the interview, Potts said he had sex with the minor on two occasions on Nov. 28. Potts said the sex was forcible in that he was forced by the minor to have sex twice.
