Cancer touches countless lives, and Warsaw Community High School (WCHS) is once again rallying to show support.
On Oct. 4, Warsaw Community Schools invites the community to join for the annual Pink Out Night, where the community comes together to raise awareness and stand with those affected by cancer. Cancer survivors attending the game will receive free admission and a special appreciation gift at the admission gates.
Kickoff time is 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the WCHS football game versus Mishawaka.
To participate, WCS encourages everyone to wear a 2024 Pink Out Shirt or purchase a pink ribbon at the game. You can order your Pink Out shirt online at warsawpinkout.itemorder.com/shop/home - the online store closes on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at midnight to ensure orders are processed in time for delivery by Oct. 3.
If you'd like to pay by cash or check, email Leslie Jackson at [email protected]. All orders must be paid by Sept. 25.
If you’re wearing your 2024 Pink Out shirt or purchase a ribbon at the game, WCS invites you to join the cheer block in the halftime “Walk the Block.” Everyone will take a lap around the track to celebrate survivors, support those with a current cancer diagnosis and remember those impacted by cancer. For those in the stands, WCS encourages you to stand in your seat.
In addition to the fans, student cheer block members and cheerleaders will wear their Pink Out shirts, and cheerleaders will be selling pink ribbons at the game. Even the football team is stepping up, wearing pink shoelaces in support.
President of the Cheer Block Leadership Team Ruth Heckaman said, “I think being a leader during Pink Out night is an amazing opportunity to show my support for families who have been affected by breast cancer. Having the community come together to show their support as well makes for a beautiful experience.”
WCS extends a special thank-you to Kari Vilamaa, Tri Kappa and A&G Beauty for their generosity and support in making this event possible.
The money raised from Pink Out t-shirt sales will go directly into the Warsaw Cheer Block Cancer Care Fund. This year, the cheer block student leaders will use these funds to support WCS employees and families impacted by cancer. In 2023, the cheer block contributed funds to support over 15 WCS families.
The Warsaw Community High School Cheer Block Cancer Care Fund is dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing cancer. Through fundraising and community efforts, the cheer block provides vital resources and emotional support to those affected by this disease.

Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt.
