Pierceton Council Approves Contract For Sidewalk Project

PIERCETON — The Pierceton Town Council approved a contract with Phend & Brown for the town's sidewalk project during a special meeting on Monday.
During an October meeting, the council approved Phend & Brown's project bid in the amount of $399,059.
While the contract was approved, it cannot be signed until the Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs releases funds for the project.
Following the special meeting, the Pierceton Redevelopment Commission met and approved the commission's spending plan for 2025.
The plan includes $180,000 for sewer works revenue refunding; $580,000 for capital expenditures; and $1,000 in professional expenses.
Capital expenditures will go toward the Brower Park pavilion and restrooms, digital signage at the Pierceton Community Building and Brower Park, and welcome signs at the north and south end of town.
Pierceton Town Council's next regular meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9.
