Atwood Otterbein Church
Celebrated Mother’s Day

ATWOOD – Pastor David Banning celebrated Mother’s Day with a message reminding the congregation that Jesus looked down from the cross with love and made sure His mother would be taken care of after He was gone. The congregation was encouraged to follow Jesus’ example of love for our own mothers. He continued describing precious gifts we have enjoyed watching generations of our families grow up in our congregation under the comforting love of their mothers. He shared he sees love painted on all our faces, reflecting the love our members have for one another as well. All mothers were presented with a token of appreciation from the children during the service.
The women’s organization Sisterhood in Faith enjoyed another mother-daughter brunch with a par-tea on Saturday. The Fellowship Hall was filled with mothers and daughters who enjoyed an entertaining reading by Patsianne Harrold. Many family photos were taken after the attendees enjoyed tea with all the fixings. The group’s next meeting will be June 6 at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Atwood Otterbein Church is at 306 E. Main St., Atwood. Sunday service begins at 9:30 a.m. and many come early for coffee and fellowship and stay late for snacks with family and friends. Sunday Bible study with Patsianne and Richard Harrold begins following the service.
