Jerry Arthur Benson, 80, Silver Lake, died at his home on Nov. 23, 2023. The son of the late Eugene Robert Benson and Ruby Louis Votra Blankenship, Jerry was born in Wabash on Sept. 22, 1943.
He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for three years until he received an honorable discharge.
On August 25, 1990, Jerry married Peggi Poyser Meredith; she survives.
Family and friends may call Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. with calling beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, with Pastor Henry Arnett Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Roann Cemetery, 6973 Roann Lukens Lake Road, Roann.
For those who wish to honor the memory of Jerry Benson, memorial contributions may be made to the Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana, P.O. Box 41, Peru, IN 46970.
