The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department announced the Family Carnival scheduled for Friday, July 28 has been canceled.
Per the National Weather Service, a dangerous heat situation will be in place Friday afternoon and into the evening, combined with the chance for gusty winds and thunderstorms.
In the best interest of public safety, the Parks Department will not be holding the event, according to a news release. Unfortunately, due to staff and vendor availability, the Family Carnival is unable to be rescheduled for a later date this year. The Parks Department hopes to make the event bigger and better than ever when it returns in 2024.
