Burket Bible To Have Rummage Sale

BURKET – This week at Burket Bible Church, 102 S. Market St.,?Burket, the message by Pastor Mark Eastway is titled "What Is Truth" from Proverbs 12:17-22.  Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. and worship time is 10:15.  Everyone is welcome to join.

Burket Bible Church will have a basement sale Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. From 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, everything is $1 a bag.



N. Manchester UMC To Hold Dinner

NORTH MANCHESTER – North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E. Second St., North Manchester, will host a baked steak dinner Friday from 4:30 until 7 p.m. The cost is $10. You may dine-in and drive-through will be available. The public is invited.



CASA Is St. Anne's April

Outreach Recipient

The local Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program began in 1990 when St Anne's Episcopal Church member Judge Robert Burner sought help from the Altrusa Club to establish an advocacy program for abused and neglected children. The first two directors were parishioners from St. Anne's, Chuck and Anne Dorgan. During April, they are collecting financial donations as well as board games for the organization.

Normal Sunday worship is at 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., in person at 424 W. Market St. or on Facebook at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Warsaw IN. There is an archive of services on the Facebook page.

Claypool UMC To Hold Sunday School

CLAYPOOL – Claypool United Methodist Church, 302 E. Section St., Claypool, will have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and church services at 10:30 a.m.

Devotion study is held every Wednesday at 4:45 p.m.

On April 30, there will be a retirement party for  Pastor Nelson in between Sunday school and church services.



Beaver Dam Community Church

To Hold Worship Services

AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Java Jacks in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.

On Sunday, worship at Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, is at 9 a.m. and 10:31 a.m. with refreshments served between services. The sermon is by Pastor Butch Troke.  Carry-in and youth meeting are after the second service until 1 p.m. Those whose last name starts with A-H please bring a main dish, all others bring a side, salad or dessert.  Youth worship is at Akron from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On Monday, the Wheels on Fire meeting is at 6:30 p.m.  Youth boys Bible study is at Akron from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, youth group is at Akron from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the BDW brunch "Quilting Forever - Housework Never" is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.  "Ladies Day at the Range" at the Harrolds' range is at 1 p.m.

Gearheart To Present Message

MENTONE – Mentone United Methodist Church, 116 E. Main St., Mentone, invites the public to join them Sunday for worship service at 10:15 a.m. where Pastor Emily Gearhart presents the message “The Walk to Emmaus.”

The church offers an early bird adult Sunday school class at 8:45 a.m. They are studying the men and women of the Bible. At 10:15 a.m., along with worship service, the church offers Sunday Bible School for children ages 5 through fifth grade and Wee Kids Worship for ages newborn to 4 years old.

The walking group the “Walkie Talkies” (formerly She Shoes) wil be walking at 9 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the Mentone Cemetery, weather permitting. This is for men and women and all speeds of walkers.

Every Wednesday at Java Jacks at 9 a.m. is One Accord, a women’s Bible study.

Feast & Fellowship and youth group meet each Wednesday at 6 p.m. A light meal is provided with informal praise and worship along with something for the children and youth following the meal.

Stellar - Shine Jesus’ Light Vacation Bible School 2023 will be June 19-22 from 6 to 8 p.m. It is for ages 3 (potty-trained) through fifth grade (grade completed). Registration will begin May 10 at vbspro.events/p/mumcvbs2023.

After a brief illness, Robert Allen Bullock passed away on Sept. 4, 2024, at the age of 85.

Family Safety Day Offers A Lot Of Activity In One Location
Whether it was the helicopters, demonstrations, information booths, a chance to interact with first responders, boat rides, great weather to be outdoors, free swag or the free Kona Ice, lots of families turned out Saturday for the annual Family Safety Day at Central Park.
