Works Board Suspends Taxi Driver's Permit Again

The Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety during its meeting Friday approved suspending Stoney Tyrone Lisenbee's taxi permit, doing business as ASAP Taxi, effective Friday.
Lisenbee is owner and operator of ASAP Taxi.
At its May 4 meeting, the board approved revoking Lisenbee's taxi permit for 30 days due to an incident May 1 involving a city violation.
Lisenbee attended the board's June 15 meeting and the board approved under the supervision of Serenity House, Lisenbee would be allowed to operate ASAP Taxi in Warsaw.
Police Chief Steve Foster wrote in a letter to the board that on Aug. 22 it was brought to his attention that Lisenbee evidenced a state of intoxication.
In the letter, Foster suggested Lisenbee's permit be revoked until Lisenbee can show cause for consideration.
Mayor Ernie Wiggins said a letter has been mailed to Lisenbee informing him of the board's decision to suspend Lisenbee permit.
Also during the meeting Street Superintendent Lacy Francis informed board members the street department has two trucks spraying for mosquitos.
Wiggins said he has received phone calls from Warsaw residents who have been concerned with the mosquitos.

n Approved a common construction wage hearing schedule from the Indiana Department of Labor for Kosciusko County for publicly-funded construction projects more than $150,000. Beginning Oct. 1, the department will implement a once a month system of scheduling the wage hearings and Kosciusko County is scheduled for the third Monday of each month.
n Approved a consent to assignment and assumption of contract service agreement for Packerton Land Company LLC and Veolia ES Hoosier Landfill Inc.
n Approved a $46.59 per ton salt bid to Morton Salt for the 2007-2008 snow season.
n Approved an $8,500 contract between the street department and Jones & Henry Engineers Ltd. for engineering service for storm sewer on Country Club Drive South.
n Approved a $3,107.16 contract between the street department and Safety Kleen Systems Inc. for parts washer rental and three-year maintenance.
n Approved a $234.93 payment to CRIPE for Lake City Greenway Construction inspection and professional services.
n Approved the building and planning department submitting a claim voucher to the Indiana Department of Transportation for reimbursement as part of the Transportation Enhancement Grant that was awarded to the Lake City Greenway Chinworth Bridge Trail.
The reimbursement is for 80 percent of the construction services provided by Paul I. Cripe Inc. from July 16 through Aug. 10.
n Approved a certificate of compliance between the building and planning department and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a permit to secure riprap under the Groninger Bridge over the Maigh Ditch for the Lake City Greenway.
n Approved a request from the Warsaw Housing Authority to pay Deck Construction $14,995 for the home of your own program project.
n Approved renewing in lieu of annexation agreements between the city and Miller's Merry Manor Inc. and the city and Roland Arnell doing business as Graceland Village.
n Approved a corrected order of disannexation for Thomas Alan Edgar.
n Approved event contracts for the Warsaw Parks Department.
n Approved an agreement between Warsaw and Young Tiger Football Corp. for the city to donate $5,000 towards constructing new restrooms and a concession building at Fribley Park that will come out of its rainy day fund.
n Approved a request from Oakwood Cemetery for a $37,133.60 contract with Phend & Brown Inc. for engineering services for a new road at the cemetery's east driveway.
n Approved a $185 contract between Ace Pest Control Inc. and the Waste Water Treatment Utility facility for treating millipedes, spiders and crickets at the facility.
n Approved an agreement between R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company and Warsaw for the lease of a parking lot.
