Warsaw FFA Goes To Convention

Members were excited to attend convention knowing that the three days of convention included a jam packed agenda.
As members arrived, they immediately began prepping for their respective state contest.
Members participated in career development events including extemporaneous public speaking, quiz bowl, agricultural farm management and business demonstration, job interview, prepared public speaking and essay.
Later that day members attended the first of five general sessions in Elliot Hall of Music. Sessions generally included performances from the state band and chorus, a keynote speaker, awards, and retiring addresses from state officers. Members also were able to attend leadership workshops and special luncheons during convention.
More than 2,500 members and guests presented at the convention.
The Warsaw chapter came away from convention with several things to be proud of.
Along the lines of career development events; Gianna Hartman competed in extemporaneous public speaking; Devan Ostrom placed third in her agricultural farm management and business demonstration; Brooklynne Slabaugh placed second in essay and third in job interview contest; and the quiz bowl team consisting for Lauryn Steffe, McKenzie Ziegler, Brooke Kline and Taylor Hartman took home a first- place victory.
Warsaw also had members place with their proficiencies, of which were: Gabriella Silor, third in equine science; and Ostrom, third in beef production entrepreneurship; and Kaila Grimm, fourth in Diversified Livestock Entrepreneurship.
Warsaw was named a "Superior Chapter" in accordance with the chapter's activity throughout the year .
Warsaw also was recognized as a Top 30 Chapter in the State of Indiana. Hartman and Slabaugh both received their Indiana FFA State Degree, the fourth highest degree of membership in the organization. Ziegler and Steffe were able to be a part of the state band at convention and Slabaugh served on the newsroom staff.[[In-content Ad]]
