Two Bloodmobiles Planned Next Week

The Kosciusko County American Red Cross will host two bloodmobiles to help meet the needs of the Fourth of July weekend.

A blood drive will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the North Webster American Legion, Ind. 13, North Webster. This drive will help those involved in accidents during the July 4 weekend.

A second bloodmobile will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. July 9 at the Lakeland Youth Center, Ind. 13, Syracuse. The blood collected at this drive will help replenish the supply used during the holiday.

American Red Cross continues to assist the victims of the tornado that destoyed homes in Mikel's Mobile Estates June 11 in northwestern Kosciusko County.

Becky Notestine, Red Cross director, said that nine of the 36 families affected by the tornado continue to receive assistance from the Red Cross.

"The need for clothing and food has been met in most cases, but a few families are still searching for places to live and require various other types of Red Cross assistance," Notestine said. "Currently the local Red Cross has incurred expenses of more than $14,000 to assist the victims of the tornadoes."

Financial donations to help the tornado victims or to support other Red Cross projects may be mailed to the American Red Cross, at 320 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, IN 46580. [[In-content Ad]]
