The Triton Elementary third grade announced it has a new guest joining it each week to help learn about eating healthy. Kathe Beehler is working as a youth food nutrition practitioner through the Marshall County Purdue University Cooperative Extension Office. Since it is documented that youth establish lifelong food, nutrition and physical activity habits during their younger years, this program is available to students in first through sixth grade. This curriculum is based on state standards to provide nutrition and health information, as well as, opportunities to practice new skills. Lesson topics include: nutrition basics, physical activity, dietary guidelines for America, and Fight BAC concepts of clean, separate, cook and chill. Beehler will provide this program to Triton third-graders once a week for six weeks.[[In-content Ad]]
