She was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Sullivan County, to Amos Allen and Mary Anna Waggner Bruce. On Nov. 23, 1942, in Kokomo, she married Charles W. Butler, who survives
She was a homemaker and retired from Delco Electronics, Kokomo, in 1980. She was a member of Mentone United Methodist Church; Moose Lodge, North Manchester; and the Jolly Good Neighbors Home Economics Club.
Also surviving are a daughter, Brenda (and spouse David) Meredith, Akron; a son, Bruce (and spouse Carolyn) Butler, Sedalia; a sister, Dorothy (and spouse Red) Nichols, Lake Placid, Fla.; six grandchildren: Lynn Hornyak, Chuck (and spouse Amy) Hornyak, Shelly Butler, Shannon (and spouse Dan) Luper, George (and spouse Tina) Butler and Tina Marie Butler; three step-grandchildren, Brandy (and spouse Jamie) Owens, Sgt. Kelly (and spouse Drew) Krause and Wendy Meredith; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Butler; a daughter-in-law, Janet Butler; and a brother, Sgt. Arnold A. Bruce.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
