He was born May 21, 1915, in Silver Lake, to Charles B. and Ruth Hill Albert. On May 15, 1937, in Columbia City, he married Erma Ione Trump, who died Dec. 22, 2010.
Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he was a manager at Purity Cylinder Gas for 50 years, retiring in March 1988. He was a member of Pierceton United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed woodworking and loved to play cards.
Surviving are a son, Phillip (and spouse Diane) Albert, Pierceton; a daughter, Patricia Ann Byrer, Palm Harbor, Fla.; four grandchildren: James (and spouse Tammy) Byrer, Pensacola, Fla.; Melinda Rannalls, Clearwater, Fla.; and Michael (and spouse Beth) Albert and Brian Albert, all of Warsaw; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Albert, and two sisters, Anna Mae Durkee and Mary Bishop.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Dave Hummel of Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
