She was born May 29, 1930, to Harold F. and Eva Sriver Haenes, South Bend. On Jan. 6, 1951, she married C. Fred Nieter, who survives.
She graduated from South Bend Riley High School in 1949. She was a bookkeeper for Paneling Center, New Albany, for 13 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church.
Also surviving are three sons: Gary (and spouse Bonnie) Nieter, Warsaw; Randy (and spouse Cindy) Nieter, Chesapeake, Va.; and Rod (and spouse Kim) Nieter, Memphis, Ind.; grandchildren: Aaron, Jeremy and Tad Nieter, all of Warsaw; Brent Nieter, Chesapeake, Va; Lori McCollum, Roanoke, Va.; and Gregory and Morgan Nieter, both of Memphis, Ind.; three great-grandchildren, Blake and Alli Nieter, both of Chesapeake, and Rachel McCollum, Roanoke; a niece; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Charles Haenes; and two sisters, Rosemary Haenes and Edith Cofield; and a niece.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Bruce Barlow officiating. Private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw.
