Looking for summer activities for your children or yourself?

The summer programs at Debra Collier's School of Dance feature acting, dance and theme camps along with a new dance fitness program, Get Up & Dance.

From camps with the studio's own princess to workshops with nationally known master teachers, the studio has something for everyone.

Dancers ages 18 months to 3 years old can enjoy their first class experience with mom right by their side. Mommy & Me is offered in both the mornings and evenings. Preschool students can take advantage of the short six-week session or enjoy a princess camp. Dancers ages 4 to 7 years old can dance with the pixies in Tinker Bell Camp or move to a faster beat in Get Up & Dance! for kids ages 5 and up.

Sleeping Beauty Camp and Barbie of Swan Lake Camp no longer have openings available, however, you may request to be placed on a waiting list.

Boys ages 5 to 12 won't want to miss the obstacle course and hip-hop fun of Boys' Athletic Boot Camp.

Drama Camp for ages 6 to 10 years old offers the opportunity for students to work with actress/producer Dannielle Robertson as they learn storytelling, to read and write lines and perform in a playlet.

Acting Is Believing, a two-day camp for ages 9 to 15, focuses solely on a production piece. Blocking, basic movement and some choral work will be used to bring your character to life.

Camp So You Think You Can Dance, filled with a variety of dance styles for ages 8 and up, and Hip-Hop camp, for ages 10 and up, are new to the studio this season. Dancers ages 8 and up will want to take advantage of the exclusive opportunity to study with master teachers Jeremy Plummer and Judy Rice in the personal studio atmosphere.

All camp and class sizes are limited.

If your child wants to step into the spotlight more, Dance Etc. and Class Act Dance Troupe offer students additional performance opportunities.

Class Act, a non-profit performing company affiliated with the studio, will hold auditions for the upcoming season June 18. Dancers ages 8 and up with previous dance training may contact the studio for additional details. Dance Etc. groups will join the dance troupe for local performances this summer. Students ages 5 and up with a minimum of one year of training may enroll until June 7.

Get Up and Dance! for adults is now offered with a flexible Class Card to accommodate the busiest of schedules. The Class Card allows the customer to attend any six classes within 90 days of purchase.[[In-content Ad]]For class times, more information on any of these programs or to register, call the dance studio at 574-267-7055. Registration forms are also available at the studio or at collierdance.com
