Animal Abuse

I would like to respond again to the allegations of animal abuse.
I do not think that everyone at AWL is being abusive to their animals. I know they work hard taking care of them.
I feel that once there is an allegation of abuse, then it should be investigated. It is a crime to abuse an animal, no matter what kind of dog it was, or its attitude, kicking a dog in between the legs and stepping on its leg was totally uncalled for since the dog already had a bite pole on him. Why would that call for "extreme measures" as one lady posted? There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that excuses that kind of demeanor.
Personally, I think there should be depositions done from all the employees so they are under oath and hopefully wouldn't lie, so we can get to the bottom of this and find out the truth.
The one time I called him, he was very rude on the phone to me, and refused to even check it out and investigate it. I thought that was part of his job ... to investigate abuse of animals? He would not of had to go inside the house, so there was no need of a warrant ... just wanted him to drive by and look at the mother and pups ... but he refused to do that stating there was no proof ... the proof would of been seen had he chose to make the drive.
I am sure after 23 years of service, he has done a good job, but if it's affecting him to the point that he feels abusing the dogs is OK ... then maybe he needs to retire and let someone else take over. Lots of people out there are looking for work.
As far as Ms. McCammon, I do not know her but I am sure she is good with animals or she wouldn't be where she is. But if what the man said is true, that money is being spent on flowers instead of the animals' health ... then that would be an issue also. But that also could be checked out easy enough with an audit of their finances.
I don't have a "beef" with anyone at AWL. I know they work hard, I have seen what they do, but I feel this needs to be investigated thoroughly and make sure there is no abuse going on.
It's bad enough these animals are homeless and scared to death, or living with someone for several years and then being put into the shelter would be horrific ... very traumatic for them, without added abuse from someone whose job it is to protect them.
Do a good job of investigating this ... and let the chips fall where they will.
Yes, it's called "animal control" ... but where is the "human control"?
