Editor, Times-Union:
Wow! It’s hard to believe that five years have passed for the Polar Plunge. What a wonderful, remarkable group to come, donate and jump into the frigid water of Lake Tippecanoe. What started out as a tongue-in-cheek event has become a wonderful winter tradition. We had a record turnout with twice as much food and money donated; 167 persons took the plunge.
Much applause to the Kosciusko County Dive Team and North Webster EMS for keeping everyone safe. Thanks to the volunteers Mr. and Mrs. Dan Underwood, Earl Hanlin, Michael Israel, Hershal Rainwater, Brian Bensing, Nick Hatcher, Carey Excavating, the Lake City Roller Dolls, Cory Moneyheffer and John Yarnell.
Roy and I want to thank all of our wonderful co-workers who have become like our family. Because of your hard work and dedication you make it to easy. So if you see at T-shirt with the Polar Plunge on it, the person in it is just shy of being a super hero. We will be doing it again next year and taking another Plunge against hunger.
