Whether you’re looking for a new home, a vacation home or commercial property, the women of Our House Real Estate can help you out.

On Tuesday, the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for Our House Real Estate at their new downtown Warsaw location, 118 N. Buffalo St.

Teresa Bakehorn, Our House owner-broker, said they sell real estate - commercial, residential, vacation homes and “anything to do with real estate in this area.”

Our House has six full-time agents and one assistant: Teresa Bakehorn, Vicky Decker, Katie Pratt, Amy Evans, Joni Zook, Christie Sparkman and assistant Hannah Bakehorn.

Teresa Bakehorn said she’s been in the business for 32 years and “we have a team of people who have had their license for quite a long time. I had been with another franchise in this market for years, and decided to leave when they wanted to charge additional fees to my clients.”

Our House opened about five years ago and has been growing and helping people since, she said. Before moving to downtown Warsaw, the business was located in The Village at Winona.

“We still love (The Village), but we like looking over the courthouse square and being able to see people,” Bakehorn said.

The goal of Our House Real Estate, she said, is to exceed client’s expectations in real estate.

“We are client-based first,” Bakehorn said. “It’s about them, not us. So you don’t see us on big, beautiful billboards. You find us working with people with what they need. So we listen to our clients. We help them achieve their goals. We help educate them. Sometimes buying is not right for them at that time, but we work with them on a one-on-one basis so they make the best decisions possible.”

Bakehorn said Our House works to help clients through a very scary process and meet them eye-to-eye.

“It is a scary thing and a lot of times they don’t know what’s going on. They have no clue and a lot of times people talk in acronyms with them, realtor talk or mortgage talk. So we’re trying to be that person ... to treat them like family, and we want to build relationships that last a lifetime, too,” Bakehorn said.

As far as set business hours, she said they will try to be in the office as much as possible, but their business takes place wherever the homes are.

The website can be found at https://www.ourhouserealestate.com/. Bakehorn said people can call, text, email or use social media to contact them.

“It’s about them (the clients), not us. We’re here to help them and it’s scary, and whether they’re buying or selling right now, whether they bought or sold with us before, whenever they have any real estate concern, this is what we do. This is what we do every day of the week, more than 40 hours a week. This is what we do. We love it and we love helping people,” Bakehorn said.
