WARSAW - The NorthWood Lady Panthers were the class of the field Saturday at Stonehenge, winning their fourth consecutive high school girls golf sectional team championship.

In the survive and advance portion of the season, fellow Northern Lakes Conference teams Plymouth and Warsaw had reason to celebrate also.

As did Tippecanoe Valley’s Madelyn Weaver and Wawasee’s Rylee Firestone.

The top three teams, as well as the top three individuals not on an advancing team, qualified for Friday’s regional at Noble Hawk Golf Links in Kendallville.

NorthWood turned in a four-player score of 325, winning the championship by 29 strokes over Plymouth (354), while the host Lady Tigers were third at 359.

The Lady Panthers swept the top three individual spots for the third straight year, as Cybil Stillson was medalist for the third straight year after firing a 72, followed by teammates Breanna Goss (75) and Ryley Kitson (77).

Weaver and Firestone advanced to the regional as individuals, carding 87 and 89, respectively, while Rochester’s Ava Thomas shot 90 to claim the final individual berth.

Tippecanoe Valley finished fourth as a team at 384, followed in the eight-team field by Wawasee (412), Rochester (428), Whitko (453) and Bremen (485).

Marie Frazzetta led the host Lady Tigers with an 80, while Olivia Robinson-Gay shot 85.

Other scores for Warsaw included Abbey Peterson’s 97, Abigail Davis’ 97, and Delaney Byron’s 99.

Guinny Garr led the Whitko Lady Wildcats with a round of 100.
