Meeting Friends

This time of year many of the groups’ friends are preparing for their trips to warmer climate.  The rest of us prepare for our Indiana winter ahead of us. The group has dwindled, down to 12 this week but all enjoyed their evening visiting while some played euchre and others played ponytail canasta.

The group says farewell to a longtime friend of the group. Ron ”Woody” Woodmansee grew up in Swayzee and later lived in Marion. He had many talents and blessed many with his kindness and witty ways. He traveled the long drive to share with us his singing talent of his side business, Woody’s Karaoke & DJ, at many of our parties.  He passed away on Oct. 5 from complications following surgery. For those interested: Friends and family may call from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Swayzee United Methodist Church, 101 W. Madison Street, Swayzee. Memorial services will begin at 4 p.m.
